Type Locality and Naming

SW Algeria. It is well exposed at Oued Samene (Wendt et al., 2006).

Synonym: upper Oued Samene Fm (usage in Ahnet Basin and Mouydir Basin)

Lithology and Thickness

The Dkhissa Fm is about 140-220m thick, and made up of sandstone with shale intercalations (Wendt et al., 2006).

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It conformably overlies the Saheb El Djir Fm.

Upper contact

It is unconformably overlain by the Argiles de l’Adrar Morrat Fm.

Depositional setting
